Aperitifs are cocktails meant to be served before dinner to stimulate your appetite, preparing your stomach and taste buds for the meal ahead. These drinks range widely in flavor, some being light and refreshing, while others are bitter and herbal. Typically produced in European countries, aperitifs include vermouth, bitters, prosecco, amaro, and liqueurs that are low in alcohol content.
We have a variety of brands to choose from, including, Campari, Lillet, Amaro Nonino, Italicus, Martini & Rossi, Aperol, and more. All of which you can drink straight or on the rocks… but the most common way to drink them is in a cocktail. Combine Campari and Red Vermouth with Gin to make a Negroni, use equal parts Aperol and prosecco for an Aperol Spritz, or add Vodka and dry Vermouth to a chilled glass and sip on a Martini. The cocktail combinations are endless, but even a simple glass of white wine, or liquor and tonic does the trick.
Digestifs are consumed at the end of the night to aid in digestion. They run sweeter in flavor and higher in alcohol content. These drinks are meant to expand your stomach and settle it after a larger meal, helping you to feel less bloated.
Digestifs can be as simple or complex as you'd like, sweet or bitter, herbal or fruity, but they typically aren't plain. The sugar and herbs soothe your stomach the most, all while satisfying and concluding your meal. It can be an overwhelming choice, but we pride ourselves on having something for everyone.
We carry many different options for post-dinner, straight or mixed. Sweet wines like Port and ice wines are perfect to drink as is, as well as Sherry or Madeira. Otherwise, liqueurs can be used for more complex cocktails and on the rocks drinks. We carry sections of Cognac, Brandy, Grappa, red vermouth, and more. Specifically on the shelves are brands like Courvoisier, Blansac, Leblon, Amaro Averna, Antica Formula, Cynar, etc.
